This is what happens when the power goes out during Thanksgiving dinner...

Duck, Duck....Peacock?

I know these aren't turkeys, but I hope you're all having a happy Thanksgiving weekend! It's not even 9 yet on a Saturday night, but I'm heading to bed as I have to be at the start line for the 8K tomorrow at 7:30am- since I don't live on the race course anymore it means getting up more than 10 min before the gun. I'm just doing it for fun though- I'm still gettting over a cold and my hip isn't quite fixed yet, but it'll be nice to race again. See the runners in the picture with the peacocks? There was a marathon clinic doing laps of the park and all the birds were wondering what the heck was going on! My old apartment building on Douglas is in the background of the one on the bridge. Okay, off to bed now- happy turkey day everyone :)

Aidan

Aidan wasn't feeling as goofy as his brother was the day I took the pictures of Caley making faces at me on the playground (in one of them I think he is actually saying "stop taking pictures of me!"), but I wanted to include some of him too- because, even at his moodiest, he's still adorable...

An after-work run with Kate

We are doing the 8K on the weekend- for Kate it will be a tune up run for a marathon in a few weeks; I'm doing it because I'm still here, and it's the longest distance I can run without my hip hurting. We ran the route tonight and talked 'strategy'. As usual, I had my camera with me, and couldn't resist taking a few pics along the way. I love the one of Kate stretching on the seawall- I was going to saturate the green of the fence, but decided I liked the minty green with the rust.

Today we ran for a cure...

It was reallllly cold and wet, which didn't help my cold any, but it was an important thing to do, so Erin, Darcy and I ran together- along with about 5000 others. I think it would be really hard to find someone whose life hasn't been affected by this disease, so it was great to see so many people out, especially since every runner was (supposed to be) raising money for breast cancer research. If you didn't run, or didn't have the chance to sponsor a runner today, you can still donate.
